Heron 501--A high floor and wrap-around balcony provide the ultimate sense of luxury in this bayfront condo. Heron 501 is a spacious three bedroom, three bathroom vacation rental with plenty of privacy to relax after a fun day in the sun.

The unit includes two bedroom master suites with king beds and and a guest bedroom, full kitchen, living room, sitting area, and in unit washer and dryer. Every room includes its own flat screen television and personal storage. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room as well as the sitting room just off the kitchen. This condo does come with access to the resort fitness center.

The main master en suite includes a king-size bed, access to a private balcony with views of the bay, unobstructed waterfront views, a double vanity, garden tub, and large walk-in shower.

The second master bedroom has a king bed with private bathroom and a private balcony that has views of the gulf .

Guest bedroom #2 has a queen bed with twin bunks and a twin trundle with a bathroom right out its door.

Large kitchen and dining room open to the living room so everyone can be a part of the gathering.

The unobstructed views of the Choctawhatchee Bay are unique throughout Heron 501. This unit also offers convenient access to the marina, lazy river, and free WiFi.

This place was wonderful! We have stayed at Destin West for six years and this condo is the best one yet. Very spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and the place is stocked with everything you need. There were nine of us and everyone enjoyed pools, lazy river and beach.

Our group (family 3 years - 63 years) really enjoyed our stay. The condo was very spacious, with more than enough room to spread out. (One of the largest condos I have stayed in to date!) The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. We spent a lot of time on the patio overlooking the bay. The pool/lazy river area was a hit with everyone, young and old.
My one recommendation regarding beach would be to rent a beach set up. There is a wagon, which was very helpful, to get supplies to the beach but it is a bit of a walk to get there.
With that said, I would definitely rent this unit again!

Just had an amazing 7 day stay at Destin West Heron 501. We had requested an early check in as we were arriving early into the Destin area. and we were allowed into our room at 1pm. Upon arrival, the condo was very clean and well stocked. Condo is beautifully decorated and balcony is huge with incredible views. We were able to watch the Boardwalk fireworks from the balcony :) We only had one maintenance issue while we were there (garbage disposal) and it was addressed immediately and the maintenance person was extremely friendly. Condo included beach wagon, beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, etc. We were a party of 9 and had plenty of room for people to spread out. Would highly recommend this condo and Best Beach Getaways!

We stayed in this unit for 7 days and 6 nights and everything was amazing. The split bedroom plan was what we needed. The view from the enormous balcony was incredible. My only complaint was that we should have stayed here during the summer months.
This unit is where you want to stay. It was centrally located and too many amenities in the resort to see.

We had 6 adults and we never felt crowded. Would also be roomy enough for families. We spent so much time on the patio. Great views and ocean breeze. You can see the fish, and dolphins swimming in the bay. We chose this unit because we brought a boat and planned on taking it out on the bay and to Crab Island. This location is perfect for that. You can rent a slip at the condo and there is also a Marina with storage and ramps close by. You can also rent boats right next door.
Most of my communications were through email or text message. All questions were answered promptly and check in information was provided before our check in date. The lazy river and pool area was very nice. There is access to the beach side via a bridge that makes for a nice morning walk. Wagons and chairs are provided if you wish to spend time there.
The condo was clean towels and toiletries were provided in each bathroom. One note is there is only a keurig coffee maker so make sure you have k-cups.
We were very happy with our stay and plan to stay there again next year!

This was our 4th year stating at Destin West and by far our favorite condo. It was incredibly clean down to the grout in the showers. The space was plenty for our group of 9 and the beds were all comfortable. We were able to see dolphins playing in the bay from the balcony multiple times and enjoyed the views of the sunset at night. The condo also came with a wagon and 2 beach chairs which was great for trips over to the beach side.

First time we have ever stayed on the bay side. The condo was beautiful with a great view of the bay and had more than enough room. The option of several pools plus the lazy river didn’t make the complex seem crowded. The walk over across the road is genius for those wanting to go beach side and spend the day. Will be back!
