Seagrove Beach - Seagrove Beach Luxury Beach Homes

Sonny Mann here.

Back in the 40s and 50s, (that’s before my time) families started coming to Seagrove Beach to rent little cottages with paddle fans and wide screened porches (perfect for sleeping). Even though all that’s changed many of the same families come back year after year, and now second and third generations make the journey. Lots of these Seagrove cottages still exist, although they've been updated for today's travelers and are now thoroughly shaded by mature scrub trees and plants.

Swimming and sandcastle building were the popular pastimes at Seagrove Beach, and they still are.  But today there’s lots of other stuff to enjoy.

Take dining.  Seagrove Beach restaurants offer casual and fine dining experiences for the entire family. The many dining options in this charming community are sure to make anyone’s vacation a memorable experience. You’ll find all kinds of cuisine, from quaint pizza places to the renowned Café-Thirty-A, a Florida Trend Golden Spoon Award winner every year since 1996.

And shopping.  The quaint, small-town stores and markets of Seagrove Beach are really neat.  The legendary Seagrove Village Market Café offers a taste of history with its general store and café, which have been around for nearly a half century.  Another of Seagrove’s shopping delights is a boutique offering beachwear and other essentials of a Florida beach vacation. There’s art galleries and fine antique stores just a short drive down the highway.

Seagrove Beach is perfect.  And the beach?  Well let me tell you, Seagrove has one of the finest sugar white sand beaches you see.

So let me wrap this up for you.  Seagrove Beach offers lots of recreational activities, such as swimming, sandcastle building, surfing, snorkeling and sunning. Nearby Eastern and Deer Lakes have canoeing, kayaking, picnicking, fishing and boating. For land-lovers, beyond-the-beach activities include nearby hiking and biking trails, golf and tennis. Seagrove Beach is a myriad of antique stores, art galleries, unique shops, and award-winning restaurants.

Plus for you nature lovers, Eastern Lake Bike/Hike Trail and Deer Lakes State Parks provide an abundance of nature’s treasures.

Eastern Lake Bike/Hike Trail
Eastern Lake Bike/Hike Trail, is a popular destination for hiking and off-road biking along the Northwest Florida's Gulf Coast. The Eastern Lake Trail was Point Washington State Forest’s first trail system.

The Eastern Lake Bike/Hike Trail has 3.5-, 5.75- and 10-mile loops. So get on your hiking boots and have at it.  .

Deer Lake State Park is a 1,920-acre park named after a freshwater coastal dune lake. The trail access to the Gulf of Mexico opens to a magnificent dune field and to a pristine section of beach. There’s 11 distinct natural communities, including beach dune, mesic flatwoods, sandhill, scrub, basin swamp, depression marsh, dome swamp, coastal dune lakes, blackwater stream, estuarine tidal creek, and unconsolidated marine substrate. There’s a whole geology lesson in one place.  And, blackwater streams are lined with spring azaleas. Summer wildflowers are seen around cypress domes throughout the sand hills and longleaf pine habitat of Deer Lake.

If you’re wondering where Seagrove Beach got its name, it’s from the thick grove of windswept oak trees along the beach. The trees were a perfect cover from the harsh hurricanes that landed along the coast of North Florida. So there you go.

So, if you’re looking for a place that’s time tested for great vacations.  Seagrove Beach is just your ticket.  Sonny Mann says, “C’mon down.”

This is where the fun starts!
